American
Baptist Men work in partnership with the
American Baptist National Ministries
Disaster Response Network together with the Office of National Disaster Response
and
Volunteers In Mission, ABMen brings hope to those whose lives have been
devastated by disasters in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
A fleet of trailers across the USA
roll into action for cleanup, repair and initial rebuilding. Short-term
volunteers work cooperatively with
Church World Service, the
Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA),
Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD),
and the American Red Cross.
It’s first aid for the soul – ABMen
putting their hands to work, showing God’s love where hope seems lost.
Evangelism
Evangelism pervades every segment of
Christian life. It cannot be regimented or compartmentalized to a particular
time and place.
ABMen strives to fulfill the Great
Commission, to make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.
The central purpose of American
Baptist Men is to reach men and boys for Christ.
ABMen explores issues of how men and
boys hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ. We communicate God’s
redeeming love – Man-to-Man.
Nurturing
American Baptist Men strengthens the
spiritual life of men and boys.
ABBoys and YoungMen curriculum builds
on our legacy of mentoring and rites of passage. Each boy is connected with a
Christian man in their church for a long-term relationship. As a result, boys
and teens come to faith in Christ and are nurtured to spiritual maturity.
Boys and teenage young men need to
have basic biblical knowledge, understand Baptist distinctives, and develop
their walk with Christ. ABBoys and YoungMen is designed to meet these ends.
